ART EDUCATION

Domestic Culture
in the 18th and 19th Centuries

For adults and groups

The Couven Museum vividly illustrates the development of middle-class domestic culture in Aachen during the 18th and 19th centuries. Join a guided tour and gain insight into the ways people lived in past centuries. Room decorations, furniture, paintings, and a wide variety of everyday objects tell the story of changing lifestyles. The museum objects show how taste and fashion, as well as domestic life, family, and childhood, changed over time, and how technical possibilities and available goods shaped everyday life. You can find topics and dates in our calendar.
