The Couven Museum will be temporarily closed from Mon, 13 April to Fri, 17 April. The reason is the dismantling of the exhibition \u201cPushed to the Limit. Costumes from Theater Aachen.\u201d<\/strong> From Saturday, 18 April 2026, the museum will once again be open to visitors during its regular opening hours.<\/p>\n

Admission and guided tours are free for everyone up to the age of 21 from the City of Aachen and the Aachen City Region.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The number of participants for guided tours is limited; reservations are not possible.
Participation tickets are available at the ticket desk from 30 minutes before the start of the tour.<\/p>\n

From the Coebergh House to the Museum Today<\/strong><\/p>\n

Domestic Culture in the 18th and 19th Centuries<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Starting in 1662, the pharmacist Adam Coebergh built the house at H\u00fchnermarkt, where he established the Eagle Pharmacy. After Andreas Monheim acquired the building in 1783, he had it remodeled three years later by the architect Jakob Couven. After the Second World War, in 1951, the City of Aachen purchased the house from the Quadflieg family. In 1958, the Couven Museum was opened here.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
